Immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of the forest environment, with its dappled light, birdsong symphonies, and breathtaking views.

Discover the enchantment of our contemporary treehouses, seamlessly integrated into nature. Experience the perfect blend of seclusion and modern comforts, while nestled in the midst of nature’s embrace.

Eco-friendly practices. Fresh rainwater is collected, a vermiculture-based septic system with tiger worms (still a full flush toilet), and powered through solar energy or a generator.

The main treehouse (71m2) features a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and a king-sized bed.
The sleep treehouse (27m2) offers 1 queen bed and 1 single loft bed. We also have Starlink internet and smart TV – you can choose to turn it on, or turn it off…

Location

Nestled amidst breathtaking natural native forest.
Head to Nelson Creek settlement, on the West Coast of New Zealand. From Nelson Creek Road turn onto 189 Gows Creek Road. Follow the gravel road for 1.89 km, you will see a sign for Te Aka Treehouse before the road bend right, take the steep driveway. Drive up gravel road through native forest for 300 metres. Look for a sign, your destination is on the left at the carpark. Reception, is either a walk along the path or drive a further 200 metres turn right.

Attractions

While at Te Aka Treehouse you can spend your time relaxing amongst the native forest or go for a walk and discover some of the hidden gems around the property, including gold panning, picnics by the creek and walking through caves. Glow worms at night can be seen.

Close by is the Nelson Creek reserve, the Nelson Creek Hotel and a short drive to Greymouth, Punakaiki and Reefton.
