Dart River Wilderness Jet is an exhilarating and spectacular journey from Glenorchy deep into the heart of the world-renowned Mt Aspiring National Park with the only jet boat operator allowed on the Dart River.

The sheer diversity of what’s on offer means you experience a unique combination of breathtaking scenery matched with exciting jet boating on braided, glacier-fed rivers. Highly informative guides add the personal touch, talking about the area’s history, the Greenstone trail and Māori legends. spectacular 46km drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is one of the world’s Top 10 scenic drives.
• An hour and a half of thrilling high-speed wilderness jet boating skimming across the clear waters of the Dart River into the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area.
• Hear about flora, fauna and history on a 30 minute rolling forest walk with your friendly guide.
• On a back road tour of Paradise immerse yourself in scenes and backdrops from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.

Dart River Funyaks

Dart River Funyaks is an amazing journey from Glenorchy deep into the heart of the world-renowned Mt Aspiring National Park. Get up-close with nature with a gentle paddle on sparkling waters.

Combine wilderness jet boating with unique Funyak in stable canoes for a fun way to explore the Dart River as well as hidden side streams, rock pools and dramatic chasms. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of this stunning area at your own pace as you float downstream, as well as a sumptuous buffet lunch before heading past Paradise and on to Glenorchy.

Dart River Stables

Enjoy a gentle horse trek through breath taking scenery in the stunning Dart Valley.

At the head of Lake Whakatipu lies Glenorchy, the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park and Te Wahipounamu, one of New Zealand’s three World Heritage areas. Internationally recognized for its exceptional beauty and untouched qualities, the area has been showcased in the Oscar- winning Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as other big screen films. With more than 60 horses of various breeds and a team of guides with a wealth of experience and knowledge.

River Wild – 1 hour option

• A one hour gentle horseback riding trek exploring our 100 acre property in the Dart Valley, offering mountain and river views this is the perfect introduction to horse riding.
• Allow 2 hours for your Hobbit’s Hack experience return to Glenorchy.
• Suitable for 1st time riders, beginners (level B) and young children. Note this is a walking paced ride. Minimum child age 5 years.

River Wild – 2 hour option

• Our most popular product, a beautiful 2 hour horseback riding trek alongside braided, glacial fed rivers this adventure offers spectacular scenery year round.
• Allow 3 hours for the River Wild experience return to Glenorchy of which 2 hours will be on your horse.
• Minimum child age 7 years. General trip information
• For the health and well being of our horses and client safety we have a strict rider weight limit of 95kg/210lbs/15st fully clothed. 1 rider per horse.
• Sunglasses, sun hat, compact camera or phone with strap, sunscreen, insect repellent, pair of thick socks, and warm outer layer recommended.
• Riding helmet (compulsory), Calf length boots with a formed heel, Fleece gloves in cold weather and Drizabone & Swandri riding jackets on windy or damp days are provided.
• Good walking paced treks for mixed abilities.
General trip information:
