

Arthur's Pass
Arthur’s Pass (population 60) connects Canterbury and Westland. The Beautiful scenery of the neighboring Arthur’s pass National Park has varied vegetation and supports many native birds, including the clowning Kea (mountain parrot). The many fine walks which start from the Arthur’s Pass Village, include the Bealey Valley, Bridel veil Walk, Devils punchbowl Falls, Dobson nature walk, and many tracks in the adjoining Craigieburn Forest Park. Other activities are camping, climbing, hunting and skiing. The Tranzalpine train journey stops at Arthur’s Pass.
