Haast

(Population 309) provides easy access to pristine rainforest, lagoons and long stretches of wilderness coast, including historical Jackson Bay. Glimpses of this wilderness can be seen a number of short walks and lookouts along State Highway 6. The 730m Haast River Bridge is New Zealand’s longest one lane bridge. Activities include fishing, hunting, hiking, nature tours and scenic flights.
